What I Packed: Skincare

For our Christmas travels we were home in California for almost three weeks!  Packing three weeks of skincare is a bit overwhelming, especially when you are like me and use a million products on a daily basis.  For the three weeks I pared down my usual routine a bit and tried to bring as many sample sized things as possible.  I've listed all of the products I used in the order I used them and gave a little review of each product below!

First Aid Beauty Face Cleanser

I have been loving this cleanser so much since I bought it last month.  It's gentle enough for all skin types and has a nice creamy texture that suds nicely without stripping your skin and leaving your face bone dry after.

Belif Bergamot Toner.jpg.ashx.jpeg

Belif Bergamot Herbal Extract Toner

This is the current toner I've been using and I am in LOVE.  It has a thicker consistency than you average toner which is heaven to my dry skin! This toner in particular is for normal/combination skin, but Belif has a couple other toners for other skin types as well. I highly recommend Belif's products, I have yet to be disappointed.

Shiseido Ultimune Power Infusing Concentrate

If there is one thing to buy by my recommendation it is this product. I have been using this product every day and night for 3 years and I honestly cannot live without it.  It's pricy, but all you need is one pump which is a little pearl sized amount of product, so the product lasts for months!  Also, Sephora carries it in an array of sizes so there is a size for every budget! I have seen my skin texture and tone improve dramatically and it also enhances all your other products to help them work better.  Seriously, you need this.

Dr. Jart+ Cicapair Tiger Grass Re.Pair Serum

I bought the sample size kit of the Dr. Jart+ Tiger Grass Re.Pair products and I brought them along on my Christmas vacation to give them all a good go.  I loved this serum! If you struggle with redness, this would be a great serum to add to your routine.  It also helps with repairing problem areas of the skin.  From October to December I had reoccurring acne around my mouth and chin and  I attribute my skin clearing up to the whole Tiger Grass Re.Pair System.

Dr. Jart+ Cicapair Cream

Whenever my skin is extra dry I always turn to Dr. Jart+'s moisturizing creams, their Ceramidin Cream is one of my all time favorites.  This cream is just like their Ceramidin Cream in its moisturizing abilities but with the Tiger Grass element it helps with redness and again, repairing problem areas. I used this during the day before my sunscreen.

Dr. Jart+ Cicapair Tiger Grass Color Correcting Treatment

Out of the whole Tiger Grass System, the Color Correcting Treatment is their best seller and I can definitely see why.  This is a much thicker and almost grainy cream that you really massage all over the face and neck.  Its green color amazingly neutralizing all redness in the skin!  I read review of girls saying they no longer needed to wear foundation to cover their redness!! If you struggle with redness, head to Sephora and pick up a sample or click the button below to buy it now.

Volition Beauty Helix AM/PM Eye Gel

I am not loyal to any one eye cream.  I love trying new ones frequently and this one from Volition Beauty is my current.  It is a clear gel that smooths on nicely (tip: keep any eye cream in the fridge to keep it cool and help depuff!).  Makeup applies smoothly over it which is great, but I personally have used better eye creams and probably won't be buying this again.

Supergoop! Everyday Sunscreen SPF 50

(Warning: I'm about to get a little preachy)  Sunscreen is the ULTIMATE skincare, beauty, and health essential.  If you are not using it currently please do me and yourself a favor and start right now!! I have been using Supergoop!'s SPF 50 everyday for the past 3 years, yup you read that right, EVERYDAY.  If you are like me and put a lot of effort into taking care of your skin with lots of products but don't use sunscreen, all your hard work is for nothing because the second you go outside your are damaging your skin and health within 10 minutes.  I love Supergoop!'s because it is oil-free, wears well under makeup, and has a PA+++ rating.

P.S. Just a heads up, I'm going to be really annoying about sunscreen forever.  But please know it all comes from my love for you!!!

Traveling can make your skin do weird things so I like to bring a few masks to help reign it back into submission.  Theses three masks below are ones I use on a regular basis and really loved having with me on my trip.

GlamGlow Supermud Clearing Treatment

GlamGlow makes my favorite masks ever!  Their products are so concentrated so a little goes a long way and, BONUS, they actually do what they say they are going to do!  I love this clearing mask for those pesky pimples that just won't go away or the ones that settle their way under the skin making your skin super tender.  I like to use this allover and let also as a spot treatment overnight.

Farmacy Honey Potion Mask

I got a sample of this with a Sephora order and I'm already planning to scoop up a full size after I finish it.  I particularly love this mask after using a deep cleaning mask like the GlamGlow.  The thick honey consistency helps replenish the skin with hydration while also calm it down with honey's natural anti-inflammatory properties.  I would highly recommend this to people who struggle with acne!

Garnier Moisture Bomb Tissue Mask - Glow

I first heard about these Garnier sheet masks in Allure's Best of Beauty issue and literally ran to Target to try them out.  I love sheet masks and these have become my new favorites.  They have enough product to stay on the skin without sliding, super intense hydration is left after only 15 minutes, and it leaves your skin looking bright and glowy.  They are only $3, so pick up at least 72,384.

If you made it through this entire blog post you deserve a medal! I can clearly talk about skincare products forever so I hope you enjoy my over indulgence.  I'd love to know what other types of skincare posts you'd like to see in the future. While this blog is a place for me to write about anything and everything, I want to create posts you enjoy reading and give you answers to the questions you have!

Speaking of your questions, I was thinking about doing a monthly or bi-monthly Skincare Q&A.  I'll compile the top 10 questions I receive and do some research, answer them as thoroughly as possible, and give product recommendations!  You can leave your questions here in the comments, on the Habits + Hues FB page, DM or comment on my Instagrams, or you can even shoot me an email here!
