The Four Skincare Products That Are Changing My Skin

The past two months I have been consistently using these four products morning and/or night and in result I’ve been experiencing my best skin ever! I don’t know if it’s all four of these used together or if it’s just one of these products, but I’m too afraid to stop using them to find out. I’ve been told my whole life that I don’t have the right to complain about my skin, but when my “good” skin is looking even better than usual, I know something I’m using is working! Glowing, almost poreless, and SO SO smooth are the only ways to describe how my skin has been feeling and looking as of late. If those are words you’d like to experience in your own life I highly recommend picking up at least one of these products if not ALL of them!!

two cleansers

Cleansers are not usually something I am extremely loyal too, mostly because I feel like they all do the same general thing — clean. Usually, the standard drugstore cleansers do the job well and I instead use the money saved to use toward more expensive treatments. So when I started and quickly became obsessed with these pricey cleansers I knew my wallet was in for a wake-up call. But I promise that these two powerhouse cleansers are worth every three hundred and four or five pennies.

BeautyCounter Nourishing Cream Exfoliator - $34

I made my first Beautycounter order about two months ago. I was in need of an exfoliating cleanser and I loved that this one was creamy. My dry skin had been betrayed by far too many aggressive exfoliators in the past (I’m looking at your St. Ives!). A unique blend of coconut oil, aloe, and jojoba beads create a luxurious feeling cleanser that gently but effectively scrubs away dead skin and leaves your skin softer than a baby’s butt. I use this morning or night at least three times a week depending on how my skin texture is feeling. If you’re still not convinced…it has over 600 reviews with an average 5-star rating - whoa!

Sunday Riley Ceramic Slip Cleanser - $35

Sunday Riley’s Ceramic Slip Cleanser just relaunched with a new and better formulation. The first formulation was quite drying and only suitable for super oily skin types. The new formulation is a lot gentler and cleanses deeply while hydrating. It has a slight green tint due to the French Green Clay which helps neutralize redness and pull impurities out of the skin without stripping the natural oils. The brand also claims this cleanser pulls in hydration, I’m not sure how but I can attest that it is true. After I use this cleanser, my skin feels comfortable and clean. I use this almost daily in the morning and/or night! To note: I did receive this for free for sampling through the Influenster program and now that I’ve fallen in love with it, I will be buying it again once I’m out.

Two Treatments

The conjunction of these two treatments have been revolutionary! One for morning and one for night and my skin has been soft, bright, glowy, and if I dare say it…perfect.

Olehenriksen Glow Cycle Retin-ALT Power Serum - $58

I’ve been interested in adding a retinol into my skincare routine but was a little nervous about the dryness that usually comes with it, so when I saw Ole Henriksen’s new alternative retinol products I got very excited. Bakuchiol is the unpronounceable superpower ingredient that delivers retinol-like results with the help of AHAs (alpha hydroxy acids aka. wrinkles’ enemy). This morning serum has an unexpected lavender hue which immediately makes the skin look brighter and more glowy because purple cancels out yellows in the skin. It’s a very hydrating and liquidy serum and a little goes a long way (I use about half a pump). I swear this has evened out my skin and is decreasing the pores on my forehead and chin! Also whenever I wear this with or without makeup on top, I get complimented on how healthy my skin looks. To note: AHA’s do make your skin more vulnerable to the sun so SPF is a MUST, especially because this a daytime product.

Beautycounter Overnight Resurfacing Peel - $58

This product is what inspired my interest in Beautycounter. Overnight Resurfacing Peel is one of the brand’s best sellers, is repeatedly rewarded by Allure and other publications and companies, and has an average five-star rating with over 1,200 reviews! Beautycounter is a completely clean brand, so you wouldn’t think that they could deliver real results in so little time, but they do!! This serum peel has smoothed out texture on my cheeks, kept clogged pores at bay, and makes me look so bright and smooth in the morning. One of the best features of this peel is that it doesn’t dry out my skin — so I don't have to worry about looking like Samantha on Sex and the City come morning. Like the Glow Cycle Serum, this product relies on plant-derived BHA/AHAs to do its heavy lifting and I’m thankful God has graced this planet with these plant-derived chemicals that can help keep us looking young for as long as possible!

I really hope none of these products sell out or become discontinued because I don’t know what I’ll do without them in my bathroom! Again I’m not sure if it’s just one product that is doing most of the work or a combination of them all, but all I do know is that I don’t want to mess anything up especially with Christmas card pictures around the corner. I apologize there aren’t many budget-friendly items on the list, but I promise I would never recommend a product I don’t 100% back with confidence! So get shopping (Sephora’s 20% Sale starts for everyone tomorrow!!) and get glowing ladies.
