Will You Join Me on a 5 Day Detox?
Anyone else feel like they weigh 800 lbs?
After almost three months of takeout and road trip food my body is really feeling the toll of all those unhealthy calories. And to make matters worse I've only worked out four or five times in the past three months too (the Pilates instructor inside me is so mad). I can sit here and write all the excuses I can think of but when it comes down to it, I've been lazy. But I'm happy to report that this week my friends the laziness stops, and I'm getting back on the health horse and riding it until I feel as good as theses two ladies look.

If you're not sure who these two are, they are Katrina and Karena of Tone It Up, a community-driven fitness company based out of Manhattan Beach, California. I've mentioned them before in this post, and how I am in love with their fitness app, Studio Tone It Up. I told you in that post that I've been a TIU Nutrition Plan Member since freshman year in college. I wish I could say I live by the Lean, Clean, and Green TIU lifestyle 24/7 but that is far from the truth, but I'm glad that because I'm a member I get access to their huge array of nutrition plans and programs that are based on eating clean and whole ingredients that fuel your body while still making eating enjoyable. But today's post is not about trying to get you to become a TIU member (even though I think you should) but to ask you to join me on a 5 Day Detox to help reset our minds and bodies.
The 5 Day Detox is a completely free meal-by-meal and workout guide that includes a grocery list, recipes, and more for each of the five days! All you have to do is go to this blog post on their website and put in your email to immediately receive your PDF of the Detox. If you're worried about them spamming you with sales pitches about becoming a member I promise you they won't and you can easily hit that "unsubscribe" button at the bottom of any of the emails at any time. Also, if you have any certain food restrictions like being Gluten-Free, Vegan, Pescatarian, etc. they allow you to download the version of the Detox that fits your dietary needs. These girls have really thought of every detail!
This will be my first time doing the Detox, so I thought it would be fun to do it with you and we could support each other through it...I mean it's only 5 days, so I think that's pretty doable. My 16-year old sister completed the Detox last month and couldn't stop raving about how great she felt. She noticed a huge difference in bloat and bonus, lost a few pounds! During the five days (March 26-30) I'll be keeping myself accountable through Instagram and Instastory. I plan to show you what I eat, be honest with you if I cheat, and be completely candid about how I feel throughout the whole process. On Saturday the 31st, I'll have a blog post up detailing my experience and sharing with you my personal results.
If you plan on joining me, let me know in the comments and we can root each other on the whole time! I'd love to know what your experience was like and if you saw results. I recommend before starting that on Sunday you take a "before" picture, you can be as dressed or as undressed as you'd like, and to also step on the scale. I'm usually not a huge fan of the scale, and would rather let myself determine changes by how I look and feel, but in terms of getting detailed results, I will be jotting down my weight prior to beginning. Make sure when you are done with the detox you take your "after" picture in the same clothes and weigh yourself roughly at the same time you did your "before" weigh in. That will ensure the most accurate readings. If you want to get super detailed you can even take your measurements! But again you do as much or as little as you'd like to track your progress. I hope in the end, this detox will jumpstart mine and your motivation for health and overall wellness.
